3.5 % of U.S households experience hunger. Sometimes not eating for a whole day.
In 2004 20% of these request were unmet
On average American households waste 14% of the food they purchase.
35.9 million people live below the poverty line
In 2001, food banks feed 23.3 million people, this was a 2 million increase from 1997, 40% were from working families.
Household waste adds up to $43 billion, making a serious economic problem.
In 2000 33 million Americans went hungry.
Each year in America there is an average of 350 billion pounds of edible food, but 100 billion pounds is wasted from retailers, restaurants, and consumers.
In 2004 request for emergency food assistance increased to 14 percent in America

Format: I want to make a slide show of many photos that I will take based on my project. I want to put on a community dinner for the people living in City Hights.
Project: Community dinner for the hungry
Mentor: My pastor from my church, Or Chris Domingo from my church who is in charge of the food and randment.
Audience: The hungry and my church.
I want to put on a community dinner for the hungry in my home town. These people don't have to be homeless just willing to come. Its going to be a home made meal that would be food I would be willing to give to my our family.
